With deep respect to His Eminence Cardinal Dominik Duka

It was an honor and a privilege for us to collaborate for nearly two decades with a personality who left such a profound mark on the spiritual and cultural life of our country. For nineteen years, Cardinal Duka baptized each of our publications, opened our exhibitions both at home and abroad, and was always a part of them—not only with his blessing. I believe that the joy and light he brought into those years will continue to live on in this work, even though today we feel a great emptiness.

Together we spent seven years carrying out the international children’s program Playful Architect, in which schools participated not only from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also from more than thirty countries around the world. Thanks to his support and cooperation, we were able to bring architecture and heritage preservation closer to thousands of children worldwide. He was an integral part of our team, and his presence stood behind every major milestone of our festival.

On a personal level, Cardinal Dominik Duka helped me greatly on two occasions during the most difficult moments of my life. His humanity, generosity, and ability to lend a helping hand at the times it was needed most will remain unforgettable to me. I will never forget his words, “Nothing is a coincidence.” I always hear them spoken with his quiet smile, and I carry them with me as a certainty I still hold on to today.

Cardinal Dominik Duka will remain forever in my heart and in the heart of our festival.
