Housing in Prague – A Modern Residential City | Looking back 📸

What will residential Prague look like in a few years? Where will new neighbourhoods emerge, and what kind of environment will people in Prague live in? Over the past weeks, we explored these questions at the Mánes Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition presented more than 150 current and upcoming residential projects from across Prague, seen from two perspectives. The first came from the city districts, with whom we selected the projects together. The second came from investors, who showed their completed buildings and plans throughout the city, including a dedicated presentation by Pražská developerská společnost featuring more than 18 major projects. The backbone of the exhibition was over 70 architectural models, which let visitors experience each project in spatial scale and in context, from individual apartment buildings to entire new neighbourhoods.

We designed the exhibition to respect the architecture of Mánes, the iconic building by Otakar Novotný, and to enter into a dialogue with it rather than cover it up.

Many thanks to the Mayor of Prague, doc. MUDr. Bohuslav Svoboda, CSc., and Deputy Mayor doc. Ing. arch. Petr Hlaváček for their patronage, to the mayors of the city districts for their support, and to all the investors who contributed their projects and materials. And of course to everyone who came to see the exhibition. Thanks to an agreement with the City of Prague, admission was free for Prague residents.
